The Ohio State University Mansfield has announced that faculty member Kip Curtis has been awarded a $25,000 Connect and Collaborate Grant from the university.
According to the OSU website, “The Connect and Collaborate Grants Program incentivizes faculty, staff, students and their respective public/private sector community partners to submit pre-proposals which have the potential to catalyze engaged, collaborative teaching, research, and service activities benefiting the community with impactful, sustainable programs while advancing the scholarly goals of the university.
This program is designed to bring together multiple, available resources and leverage existing community platforms to develop programs that achieve measurable, positive impacts in communities.”
The grant will involve “teaching and learning gardens” in urban school settings.
Curtis teaches history at OSUM, with a research emphasis on environmental history.
