There may well be an upcoming Renaissance Podcast with the audio version only coming soon, however this weekend Renaissance Performing Arts posted a video interview of the third finalist for the position of Mansfield Symphony Orchestra Music Director, Douglas Droste.

Droste’s name might be familiar to fans of marching band and brass band music in the Columbus area, as his father was long-time Director of The Ohio State University Marching Band, Dr. Paul Droste. As the interview reveals, Droste grew up in the Columbus area but has gone on to make his own name known in music circles; he currently serves as Director of Orchestras at Ball State University, as well as Artistic Director and Conductor of the Muncie Symphony Orchestra in Muncie, Indiana.

The conductor will be at the podium on May 13 as the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra presents the final Masterworks Series concert of the season, entitled, “Take Me To Your Leader.”

The interview with Droste can be watched below.
