Richland Gives, an annual online period of local giving, begins on Monday at 7:00 AM.

Richland Gives is designed to encourage everyone to support local nonprofits they care about through a single giving platform and website. The Richland County Foundation is hosting the day to build capacity, grow philanthropy and make the community stronger.

This year, the portal for online donations opened on Monday and any amount given between now and December 1 at 7PM will count toward the Richland Gives amount for that charity.

The day of giving will allow Richland County nonprofit organizations to raise funds and awareness as well as cultivate new donors and reinvigorate lapsed donors. Over 80 local charities are registered for the event.

According to the event website, “Individuals will be able to donate money to the nonprofit organizations of their choice. All donations are tax-deductible and irrevocable. (Donations will not be refunded). Donors will receive a receipt for their gift. The nonprofit will receive contact information for each donor unless the donor elects to remain anonymous.”

Thanks to the generosity of donors at the Richland County Foundation, over $30,000 in incentives will be awarded as grants to participating organizations, beyond what they raise from online donations. Additional monies will also be given to the first ten nonprofit organizations that raise at least $2,000 online via the Richland Gives website.

Additional prize grants will be awarded to the nonprofits during Richland Gives; the top six nonprofits that raise the most donations in both small and large divisions will win from $1,000 to $10,000.
