On Tuesday morning, City of Mansfield Police joined representatives of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force in the arrest of 22 year old Tyler Morley.

Morley was found hiding in a crawl space at 228 Clermont Avenue in Mansfield and was promptly taken into custody as a search warrant was executed at that residence. He was arrested on both outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants including a “Felonious Assault on a Police Officer” in reference to a February incident at the same location.

According to a news release from Police Chief Keith Porch, “During that (February) incident Mr. Morley, who was wanted on a Domestic Violence Warrant, refused lawful commands and struggled with a Mansfield police officer. After breaking free from the officer’s grip, he pulled a concealed firearm from his person and fired a round at the officer. Mr. Morley then fled the area on foot and has been a wanted fugitive since that time.”

Two other individuals were also charged on Tuesday morning, Aaron Morely, age 25, and Rachel Sturgill, age 38. Both were taken into custody and changed with Obstruction of Justice for their part in concealing Tyler Morely’s whereabouts.

All three were taken to the Richland County Jail, served charges, and incarcerated.
