Park National Bank, which continues to operate locally under the name Richland Bank, has announced plans to shutter two locations in Richland County effective September 30.

The move comes as Park closes 21 branches in 13 Ohio counties, as well as a location in North Carolina.

Locally, the impacted banking operations will be in Butler and inside the Kroger Marketplace on Lexington Avenue.

The moves will save the total operation approximately $6.5 million, according to a press release.

“Our banks continue to add new customer relationships, but more people rely on digital banking services and our other offices to conduct their regular banking,” Park National Chairman and Chief Executive Officer David Trautman said. “While our values and service promises remain steadfast, our branch office footprint needs to better align with customer preferences and demand.”

At this point, the number of full and part-time employees from those two locations remaining with the corporation is not known.
