The Mansfield Division of Police shared an update on Monday about how the department will be handling the release of records for the time being.

Due to the COVID-19 virus and the city’s State of Emergency status, the Mansfield Division of Police Records Section has made adjustments to their operational process. These changes are being done to better assist the public with obtaining needed records during the closing of the Municipal Building.

Effective on Tuesday morning, if you need a copy of a report, please call (419) 755-9770 between the hours of 8AM – 6PM (Monday through Friday) and a Records Clerk will be able to assist you. Please call the number PRIOR to coming to the city building as access to the building has been restricted and you cannot reach the Records Section at this time. The Records Clerk will give you instructions on how and when to pick up the requested information.

It is the Division of Police’s intent to email what records they can, however, large file requests may have to be picked up. The Records Clerk will make a determination as to which process will work best for each individual request once they take your call. Any future changes to the process will be sent out as they happen.

The Division thanks all in advance for compliance with the revised process and if you have any questions, call the above listed number for further clarifications. Stay Safe!
