Locally, the next opportunity to vote is the March 17 Primary Election, which includes a handful of local issues to be voted on.

Voting includes many state-level positions such as Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court, local positions including Richland County judges, and even delegates to the national conventions. In order to vote, you must register by February 18; you can register at the Board of Elections Office (1495 W. Longview Avenue, Mansfield), any library, high school office, village hall, city council offices, or bureau of motor vehicles offices.

The full list of candidates and issues on the ballot in the March Primary Election can be found on the Richland County Board of Elections website.

Early voting begins on February 19 and will run through March 16; early voting is available at the Board of Elections (use the rear, lower level parking area enter through the marked door).

You must declare party affiliation to vote for candidates in the Primary Election. Those who do not declare a party affiliation may vote, but only on the issues listed on the ballot. Party affiliation may only be changed at a Primary Election by requesting the opposite party’s ballot. Under Ohio law, no other means of changing party affiliation is available.
