First Call 2-1-1, the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library, and AARP Foundation Tax-Aide have furnished a list of places that can provide free tax help to low and moderate income taxpayers, especially those 60 and older. This service is offered in conjunction with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

If you are unsure whether you qualify for assistance, call 2-1-1 (or 419-522-4636).

Here are the dates and locations that have been announced:

  • Mansfield Walk-Ins: Avenue Church (1756 Park Avenue West): Wednesdays beginning February 5, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
  • Mansfield By Appointment: Hours and locations vary; call 2-1-1 (or 419-522-4636) to make an appointment.
  • Shelby Walk-Ins: Marvin Memorial Library (29 W. Whitney Avenue): Mondays beginning February 2, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

The IRS also offers self-service and online options at www.irs.gov/filing/e-file-options (these options may or may not include state returns).

The State of Ohio offers online filing of state taxes at www.tax.ohio.gov/ohio_individual/individual.aspx.
