Development of a five-year strategic plan for Mansfield City Schools will move forward with a series of student, staff and community focus groups to be held on January 14 and February 19.

The Mansfield City Schools District is reaching out to all community members to receive their input and help in developing a strategic plan that will set priorities, focus energy and resources, and set attainable goals for the District.

Superintendent Stan Jefferson said participation by each group will help to define the District’s direction in response to an ever-changing environment that puts children and students’ learning at the center.

“A strategic plan will be a blueprint for our district to follow toward greater success on a wide range of topics, including steadily improving academic achievement, conducive learning environments in every building and most efficient use of facilities,” Jefferson said. “We seek the views and opinions of everyone.”

The focus group sessions will be supplemented by a district-wide survey on February 1.
