Welcome to the first in a new series looking at organizations and groups in Richland County. We’re calling it “Get to Know,” as we’re sharing information about each which you might not already know.
In downtown Mansfield, catty-corner from the library parking garage, sits the former home of Dr. J.W. Craig (Be sure to visit here to read all about this landmark of Mansfield!). The current occupant of this impressive home, since 1978, is not a person – it’s the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce. This organization, whose members are local businesses and associations, has developed an excellent reputation for serving the community as an advocate and catalyst for economic and business success in Richland County.
The question, then, is what does “the chamber” do? The best way to describe it is that they work hard to make our community a better place! They do that by having conversations with people from all walks of life, on a variety of topics, and then turning those conversations into action.
Here are some recent examples that they’ve provided to show what is under discussion within our community:
