Escape From Shawshank – On A Bike This Time

Here’s your chance to undertake your own escape from Shawshank, otherwise known as the Ohio State Reformatory.

On July 27, join friends with Slow Roll Mansfield, the Richland County Chamber of Commerce, and Destination Mansfield as they undertake the Shawshank Bike Tour, a 7.5 mile bike hike that will visit Shawshank Redemption movie filming locations and places where the film was produced.

The fun begins in the parking lot of OSR, with check-in beginning at 4:00 PM and the bike “escape” beginning at 4:30 PM. Then trace the route taken by Red, Brooks, and Andy into downtown Mansfield.

This special bike ride is being undertaken in celebration of the movie’s 25^th anniversary.

Once downtown, a refreshment stop is planned at the Phoenix Brewery.

So bring your rockhammer (just like Andy), get some exercise, and have some fun! Registration is required. To do so, visit the Shawshank Bike Tour Facebook Event page and click “Going.”
