As shared by the Ohio State Department of Public Safety:

Thursday afternoon, witnesses reported a man with a concealed carry weapon on the Ohio State Mansfield campus. Police responded and located the man inside Conard Learning Center at 1650 University Drive. Initial reports indicate no threats were made.

Upon speaking with the individual, police determined he had a concealed carry permit, however, this does not allow him to be inside a campus building with the weapon. The gun was confiscated and he was taken into custody. There is no threat to the Mansfield campus community and information of the arrest was shared via Buckeye Alert.

Due to the ongoing investigation, we do not have additional details to share at this time. The safety of our campus community is our number one priority. Please continue to report suspicious behavior to police and always dial 9-1-1 in emergencies.
