From social mixers to academic gatherings, the campus has planned a variety of activities to ensure a smooth transition for new students and a refreshing start for returning ones. Here’s a look.

Monday, August 20: Molyet Mixer with 3rd Cup of Tea

Time for Socializing and Fun

Time: 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Location: Molyet Community Center

The Molyet Mixer with 3rd Cup of Tea is an exciting opportunity for all new students to get acquainted with each other. The event will feature games, introductions, and refreshments from the popular 3rd Cup of Tea. It’s a perfect occasion to make new friends and start the academic year on a positive note.

Tuesday, August 21: A Day Packed with Activities

Convocation: The Official Welcome

Time: 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Location: Founders Auditorium

The Convocation is a significant event that marks the beginning of the academic journey at Ohio State. Faculty, staff, and students will gather to celebrate the start of a new chapter. It’s an essential opportunity to feel the spirit of the university and to connect with the academic community.

Dean’s Picnic: A Delicious Gathering

Time: 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Location: Eisenhower Marketplace

Immediately following the Convocation, the Dean’s Picnic will provide students with a chance to mingle with the Dean, faculty, staff, and fellow students over a free lunch. It’s a relaxed and friendly environment to discuss academic interests and future goals.

Major Mixers: Explore Your Interests

Time: 2:15 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Location: Eisenhower Marketplace

The Major Mixers event is designed for students to learn more about their major or explore other areas of interest. Major program coordinators will be present to provide insights and answer questions. It’s a valuable opportunity to gain clarity about academic paths and to network with experts in the field.
