Ohio Radio Host Purportedly Pepper-Sprayed, Arrested At OSR

CHIP Program Public Hearing On October 25

There will be an informational public meeting for Richland County and the City of Shelby residents (excluding the City of Mansfield) interested in taking advantage of the recently funded Community Housing Impact and Preservation (CHIP) Program.

There will be funds available for owner rehabilitation and minor home repairs. A representative of the Fair Housing Program will be present at this public meeting to answer questions and distribute information regarding housing discrimination issues. Just Walk Richland Continues Walking Meetups

It’s a movement that brings local residents together to engage in collective whole health walking in Richland County. Walks are open to all and take place in various types of terrain – including parks, urban streets, residential neighborhoods, along the Richland B&O Trail, and others.

Participants are welcome to join in no matter their motivation – to meet new people, engage in healthy activity, experience nature, whatever the case. Recent walks have included a Trail Walk with the City of Shelby Health Department, an Ohio Bird Sanctuary Trail Walk, and a “Beat the Heat” Woods Fitness Hike.” More…

The Richland County Regional Planning Commission is sponsoring a “Complete Streets” workshop on November 3.

In promotion for the event, the Commission shares, “Streets are a vital part of livable, attractive communities. Everyone ought to have safe, comfortable, and convenient access to community destinations and public places. Complete Streets are streets for everyone. They are designed and operated to enable safe access for all users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists and transit riders of all ages and abilities. Senior Alum Contributes To Marietta Win

A graduate of Mansfield Senior High School is a key part of the Marietta Pioneers football squad this season, and this past Saturday, helped the team in a lopsided 66-23 victory over Wilmington College.

Jakkar Bishop, a sophomore at Marietta, set the tone for the win with an opening, 33 yard kickoff return giving the Pioneers excellent field position.
