The state tourism website, known as Ohio. Find It Here., has undertaken to fix a spotlight on two sets of five Ohio communities as exhibiting the best of Christmas spirit with interesting shopping experiences.

Mansfield was included in the mix.

One of those articles, entitled “Shop Ohio’s Charming Towns for the Holidays,” starts out:

“This holiday season, put your laptop and phone down. After shopping online for nearly two years, it’s time to grab your wallet or purse, jump in the car, and get out and shop in real life. Many of Ohio’s most charming towns, which already are decked out in their holiday finest, are home to independent, locally owned retail stores that are eagerly rolling out the welcome mat this year to holiday shoppers.”

In addition to Mansfield, other stops on that trail include Chillicothe, Lebanon, Vermilion, and Bellefontaine.

The Mansfield section highlights seven local retail establishments and eateries, centering on the Carrousel District downtown. The Wishmaker House Bed & Breakfast in Bellville was also included.

This is the second time this month that the site has recognized Richland County for its unique attractions; Christmas at Kingwood was included on a new state trail focusing on remarkable Christmas light installations. Our story is here.
