Ribbon Cutting Officially Opens Olive & Oak Company

This week, a new local clothing boutique celebrated its opening with a ribbon cutting.

Civic leaders, including from Richland Area Chamber & Economic Development, were on hand to get acquainted with the new retailer, which has been open since January of this year.

Olive & Oak Company, located at the corner of Cline Avenue and Wood Street in Mansfield, is a place where women’s clothing and fashion accessories are in plentiful supply. More…

Meijer Making Additional Changes Tied To COVID-19

Late last week, Meijer announced additional steps it is taking to make its stores safe for both shoppers and team members, including at its store at 1355 Lexington-Springmill Road in Ontario.

In addition to amplifying its communication to customers about social distancing practices, Meijer is now asking its customers to limit the number of shoppers who come to the store on each trip.

‘Tis The Season To Find A Holiday Job

It’s that time of year when Richland County retailers gear up for what they hope will be robust holiday season sales.

As we shared last year, the prediction for Mansfield/Ontario area shopping numbers for retail spending during the Christmas season was the strongest in the state with a predicted 8 percent increase. Space Age Shopping Hits Mansfield

A bit of the future of retailing has arrived at the Possum Run Walmart.

It’s called a “Pickup Tower,” and it operates almost like a vending machine for goods.

With the Pickup Tower, customers can purchase items online and select “Pickup” while checking out. Walmart associates place the items in the tower, and when the customer is notified that pickup is available, a simple smartphone barcode scan will release their item. More…

Sears In Ohio, Ontario Holding Its Own

When the news came during the last few days of Kmart and Sears stores which will close across the country in the coming weeks, Richland County and Ohio fared quite well.

Neighboring states will see several closures; Pennsylvania, for instance, is set to lose 10 Kmart and three Sears locations. Ohio has only two closures – a Kmart in Warren and a Sears store in Cincinnati. More…

JC Penney To Shutter 138 Stores; Richland Mall Store Not Impacted
