Earlier this week, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Development Community Facilities Direct Loan and Grant Program has awarded a total of $32,702,000 to three communities in Knox and Richland counties.
“This federal funding makes critical investments in improving our state’s infrastructure and bolstering economic growth,” said Brown. “Now more than ever, we must ensure that communities in Knox and Richland counties have the resources they need to improve the everyday lives of their residents. My office and I will continue working with community partners to ensure these communities continue to get the support they need.”
More…The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Forestry recently provided more than $100,000 in fire and EMS equipment to dozens of rural fire departments throughout Ohio.
“The state is proud to partner with rural fire departments to help ensure that they have the tools they need to carry out their first responder duties and protect the public,” said Governor Mike DeWine. “Equipment was provided to more than 60 departments for free.” More…
On Thursday, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded $308,628 to the City of Mansfield for Operations and Safety through the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program.
“Ohio firefighters and first-responders work every day to protect our families,” said Brown. “We must support our first-responder organizations so that communities like Mansfield have the resources to shield families and homes from fire hazards.” More…
