Richland Countians love their cars.

The role of the automobile in daily life was a relatively new one, however, on February 24, 1917, the day that Mansfield’s very first automobile show opened its doors.

Just nine years after the Ford Motor Company launched its signature Model T, and just four years after the company’s integrated moving assembly line revolutionized manufacturing, the car owners in north central Ohio decided to hold a show at the brand-new building of the Cotter Transfer & Storage – then, as it still is 100 years later, at 40 West Third Street. Carvana Comes To Richland County; Car Buying Has Really Changed In 100 Years

In an announcement sent out to markets across the country on Thursday, e-commerce company Carvana shared that it is bringing its online, next-day delivery automobile purchasing service to an additional 100 communities.

Those newly served communities include Mansfield, as well as Lima and Springfield.

The way it works is this. Prospective car buyers use the Carvana website to choose a vehicle, which is then brought to them via a “touchless home delivery.” More…

Back‐to‐back international Studebaker events converge at Richland County Fairgrounds, September 9‐14. The Antique Studebaker Club (ASC) holds its International Meet September 9‐10, followed by the even larger 55th Annual Studebaker Drivers Club (SDC) International Meet, September 11‐14.

Mansfield Division Of Police Shares Caution About Stolen Vehicles

The Mansfield Division of Police has noticed an increase in stolen vehicles occurring within our city over the past several months.

From January 1 through June 10, there were 52 stolen vehicles reported in our city as compared to the same time period as last year when 25 vehicles were reported stolen. This is an increase of over 108%. More…

International Studebaker Meet Coming To Mansfield

The Studebaker Drivers Club Inc. (SDC) has announced the selection of Mansfield as site of the 2019 SDC International Meet.  Studebaker owners from across North America and beyond will bring their classic Studebakers and families to Mansfield for a week of history, fun, and comradery.

SDC Members will show their vehicles, share information and memories, and even participate in concours judging. The 55th Annual SDC International Meet will take place at the Richland County Fairgrounds in Mansfield from September 8-14, 2019. This event will bring an estimated 1,300 people to the area during the week-long event. These visitors will stay in hotels across the county and generate an estimated $1.1 million in economic impact on Richland County. More…
