The Ohio State Reformatory (OSR) is seeking donations for the creation of The Frank & Rae Darabont Art Gallery.
This year’s goal is to raise $80,000, which is needed to pay for the complete restoration of a hallway as well as the secure display of 20 treasured works of movie art related to The Shawshank Redemption donated to the Ohio State Reformatory by the film’s writer and director Frank Darabont and his wife Rae. Mansfield Senior High School has continued its tradition of having several students among the state winners in the annual Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition.

The Pearl Conard Gallery at The Ohio State University at Mansfield will present “Labors: An Exhibition Exploring the Complexities of Motherhood,” curated by Kate Shannon, associate professor of art.

Young artists from area school districts will display their creations during Artapolooza, an annual celebration of art in education held at the Mid-Ohio ESC Conference Center.
The event, sponsored by Mid-Ohio ESC, includes an elaborate student-created art gallery, family art workshops and a reception to honor the artists. The gallery is open to the public at no charge on Tuesday, April 4, Wednesday, April 5, and Thursday, April 6, from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM and on Friday, April 7, from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM. More…
