The City of Shelby stays is continuing to pay attention to the health and beauty of its urban canopy. Oberlander’s Tree & Landscape is back on the job of tree trimming this summer.

This time around, the spotlight falls on Ward 4, particularly the backlot regions around the Seltzer Park area. The primary purpose of this operation is to carefully clear tree limbs that are near the city’s primary electric lines. This action aims to prevent any disruptions to Shelby’s electric utility service, thus ensuring a steady power supply to businesses and residences alike.

Please bear in mind that this tree-trimming project specifically pertains to primary electric lines. The service lines extending into homes or businesses are not part of the trimming endeavor.

Oberlander’s may need to switch from the current task to address other tree-related issues within the community as required. This flexible approach allows them to promptly respond to any urgent tree work, contributing to the city’s overall safety and aesthetic appeal.

If you have questions or require further clarification, the city’s staff are more than willing to assist. Reach out to Doug Hurst, the Superintendent of the Electricity & Communications Department, at 419.342.5111. He is available Monday to Friday between 7:00am and 3:00pm.

Alternatively, the Utilities Office Staff can also answer your queries. They are contactable at 419.342.4085 during the hours of 8:00am to 4:00pm from Monday to Friday.
