Now that the last of winter is behind us (hopefully!), attention is turning to an Ohio summer and plans for fun and family.

One of the traditional parts of summer for young children is swimming, and swimming lessons are being offered this year by the City of Ontario Recreation Department.

To be eligible to participate, youth need to have completed Kindergarten, First, Second, Third, Fourth, or Fifth grade this past academic year. Two sessions are on offer, both in the afternoon — 12:15 PM to 1:15 PM, and 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM.

Cost is $50 for eight days of lessons over two weeks. Class size is limited, so registration is vital and must be done by May 7. Masks are required unless the child is in the pool, and only one observer is allowed.

Registration can be accomplished here.

For questions, call the Recreation Director at 419.529.2588 ext 3202, or email: [email protected].
