This year we have been continuing our weekly look at unique events and attractions that are within an easy driving distance of Richland County. We call these “Summer Road Trips.” Of course, we regularly feature the many extraordinary places to visit right here in Richland County and encourage our readers to get out and experience what is on offer in our own backyard.
Well, summer is technically over, but there are still fun festivals and events taking place within an easy drive of Richland County during these early days of fall. With a title like “Johnny Appleseed Days,” and given Johnny’s Richland County connections, we couldn’t resist sharing information about this weekend event in nearby Findlay.
Johnny Appleseed Days will be taking place on Saturday and Sunday at Ghost Town Findlay, a replica of an 1880s era ghost town which was built in the 1950s as a roadside attraction.
The fun will include:
- A 100 year old working cider press
- Crafts and antiques
- Vintage items for sale
- Farmers market
- Food including Barbecue, Asian, Soup, Funnel cakes, and more
- Rustic backdrops for photo ops
- Parking shuttle on the Ghost Town Express Train
All of this will be taking place outdoors with social distancing in place. And of course, Johnny Appleseed will be on hand!
Ghost Town Findlay is located at 10630 County Road 40 south of Findlay. Johnny Appleseed Days will be held from 9 AM to 5 PM on Friday, and 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturday.
