Not only has a reputable organization just named Mansfield as a “ski town,” it included it on a list of the ten most affordable ski towns in America.
The official website of the National Association of Realtors named Mansfield as #8 nationally in a piece published on Monday entitled, “Hit Peak Living in America’s 10 Most – and Least – Affordable Ski Towns.”
The article asks, “what if you could wake up within a short hop (or shorter ski) to the lifts, right out your door—and then, after a life-affirming day of shredding, carving, or zorbing, return to soak in your very own hot tub, while sipping a fine glass of pinot under the stars?”
The most affordable such community in the country? Nearby Harrison, Michigan, with a median house price of $64,000 and nearby Snow Snake Mountain Ski Area. The most expensive ski town in which to live is, perhaps not surprisingly, Aspen, Colorado. There, the median house price is a staggering $2,124.000.
