It’s been happening for some time, but a major step in an apparent redesign of The Ohio State University website took place in the last couple of days.

The new site has some revamped organization, but the major change appears to be an aesthetic one. The new site is a brighter, less packed-in experience that emphasizes white space and large headers.

As Mansfield is so closely connected to goings-on in Columbus, we here at 1812Blockhouse are on the OSU website several times a week. Because of that, we tend to notice such things.

In a nod to OSU’s regional campuses, including The Ohio State University at Mansfield, links to those campus sites have a new more prominent placement in the middle of the home page. Those local sites adopted the new look a bit earlier than the main website, but are apt to continue to change in the coming weeks.

One interesting addition is a new “Fans” tab at the right of the top menu, which connects to a sports-fan focused page with highlights of the latest Buckeye news.

We encourage our readers to take a look, particularly those with a scarlet and gray connection. As it was before, the OSU website is at: osu.edu.
