Law enforcement officials associated with the METRICH Enforcement Unit conducted a successful search of a Sherman Place residence on Thursday evening.

While the search was going on, the occupant, 27 year old Desanjay N. Taylor, lept from a second story window in an attempt to flee the scene.

The search netted 601 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 18.5 grams of suspected Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) wax, 36 grams of suspected cocaine, 140 grams of suspected crack cocaine and 20 grams of suspected marijuana. The street value of these drugs is over $70,000.

Also taken from 418 1/2 Sherman Place were a 9mm handgun, a loaded .32 caliber revolver, and drug parapheanalia.

METRICH Commander Lt. Jason Bammann said “this was a direct result of excellent work from METRICH detectives and tips received from the community.”

To report suspected drug activity, call the METRICH Crime Tip Hotline at 419-52-CRIME (419-522-7463) or the Task Force line at 419-755-9728.
