The Mansfield Division of Police responded to an Aggravated Robbery on 01/17/2017 at the First Merit Bank located at 100 Park Avenue West. An unknown black male suspect entered the bank just after 1pm and approached a bank employee at which time he indicated that he possibly had an unknown explosive device and proceeded to rob the bank of an undisclosed amount of money. Upon fleeing the bank, the suspect was observed entering an older black sedan, possibly a Ford LTD or Lincoln model vehicle, at which time he fled eastbound on Park Avenue West.

There are no further details to release at this time. The Mansfield Division of Police, Major Crimes Unit, along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), is asking the public’s assistance for any information regarding the Bank Robbery.
