The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc., which serves North Central Ohio counties including Richland County, has announced the appointment of 4 new members to its Corporate Board of Trustees: Colonel Michael Howard, Jason Painley, Dawn Herner, and Becky Plank.

Howard

Colonel Michael Howard is a retired United States Air Force Vice Commander who lives in Ontario with his family. He brings a wealth of expertise in management and operations, communications, mentorship, and directing non-profit community organizations. He also serves the community through his involvement on the Richland County Board of Developmental Disabilities and the Foundation Academy School Board. He previously served as the Chair of The Ohio State University at Mansfield Board.

Painley

Jason Painley, CPA, is the Chief Financial Officer for Mechanics Bank and lives with his family in Lexington. He has experience in finance, laws and regulation, governance, accounting, auditing, risk management, and internal controls. He serves on the United Way Board of Directors and Finance Committee as Treasurer; the Renaissance Board of Directors and Finance Committee; the Advisory Boards of the American Bankers Association; and Innovest Global, Inc. Board of Directors and as Chairman of the Audit Committee.

Dawn Herner is employed as the Elderly/Disability Property Manager for Premier Management and resides in Norwalk. She has an M.S. in Natural and Applied Sciences with a concentration in Aging from Oklahoma State University.

Herner has many years of experience in housing. Herner also volunteers for the Friends of the Milan Library, Norwalk Main Street Schools, League Street Schools, and is a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She has previously served as the Huron County 4-H advisor and as the Monroeville Schools’ PTO President.

Plank

Becky Plank lives in Ashland and is a retired social services professional. With over 33 years of experience, she brings expertise in budgeting, fundraising, and human relations. She is an active member of the community and the Area Agency on Aging, where she has served on the Advisory council and continues to serve on the Foundation Board. Plank has served in several Ashland leadership positions like the Ashland Business & Professional Women. For over 30 years, she has volunteered for the Ohio Senior Health Information Insurance Program by helping people with Medicare, Medicaid, and Insurance questions.

Officers for 2020 include: President: Jeff Polzin (At-large Representative, Morrow county), Vice President: Jana Mulherin (Richland county representative), Vice President: Kellie Hartsel (Seneca county representative), Treasurer: Beth Myers (At-large representative, Richland county), and Secretary: Nate Roshon (Crawford county representative).
