Kingwood Center Gardens is a busy place during the summer and fall. That activity includes a steady stream of workshops that include not only plant-related activities, but also opportunities to explore relaxation and other artistic endeavors within the attraction’s 47 acres.

This is particularly true with two upcoming series that combine the beauty of nature with its ability to foster relaxation and meditation. This comes through two yoga classes being taught by Claudia Cummins.

On Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM beginning on August 15 and going until October 3 is Yoga in the Garden.  This series will be a gentle and meditative yoga experience.  All levels are welcome to come, and students will be encouraged to tailor the experience to their own needs. The cost is $80 for 8 sessions, but you will receive a Kingwood Individual membership upon payment. The member price is $40 for 8 sessions. Drop-in fee is $12, dependent on space available.

Online registration for Yoga in the Garden is available here.

Then, on Thursdays from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM beginning on August 16 and going until October 4 is Unwind Yoga. This series will explore movement, breathing and meditation practices that leave the body clear, the mind calm, and the spirit soothed while breathing in the fresh air of Kingwood’s gardens.  This class will be a beautiful way to slide peacefully into the weekend. The cost for Unwind Yoga is $72 for all 8 sessions, but you will receive a Kingwood Individual membership upon payment. Members pay $36 for the 8 sessions and the drop-in fee is $11, dependent on space available.

Online registration for Unwind Yoga is available here.
