Those heading south on I71 to Columbus, or coming back to Richland County, have likely noticed a series of lane closures off and on between the State Route 97 intersection near Bellville to the Richland-Morrow County line.
Closures are limited to one of the three lanes during the day, and then two lanes at a time during the night hours as resurfacing takes place.
Additional work is being done on I71 at the same time up to the State Route 13 intersection.
In the fall, another new project will impact Richland to Franklin County commuters and travelers when the $34,000,000 interchange expansion begins at the US 36/State Route 37 intersection in Delaware County. That work will actually add another exit to I71 between Cheshire Road and the current exit, and connect the new Sunbury Parkway.
That work will continue until June 2023.
