Ms. Nyshia Brooks will be the speaker for the upcoming AALI Speaks event on Monday, July 8 from 12-1:30 PM. She will talk about victims of crime and how the community can identify, support, and meet the needs of those victims.

Nyshia Brooks is a community organizer who has worked with various non-profits, local businesses, and other organizations to help them improve their partnerships with the community and achieve a collective goal of overall wellness and prosperity.

Through her organization Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice, Brooks gives a platform to and opportunity for survivors to actively participate in the change they want to see happen in their communities.

Are we, as a community, meeting the true needs of victims? Do we really understand the impact of crime on the victims? Guided by years of experience working with nonprofits, Ms. Nyshia Brooks will unpack these issues and more during her talk.
