Fueled in part by posts from WMFD and the News Journal, north central Ohioans were buzzing yesterday about the possible imminent arrival of two new places in Ontario to grab a bite to eat or something to drink.

Those stories centered on the appearance of two employment opportunities at a potential local Raising Cane’s restaurant, one for a General Manager and one for an Assistant Restaurant Manager at a location identified only as “C1158-Lexington-Springmil & Richland Lexington-Springmil (sic) & Richland Mansfield, Ohio.” A pull down memo notes that a new Raising Cane’s will be arriving sometime in 2024.

That notice can be found here. There is no additional confirmation on the website, although as noted above, the Ontario restaurant has been apparently been assigned a number. Local officials have been tight-lipped, the stories shared.

While few other specifics were noted in the articles, the speculation centers in part on an outlot near Richland Mall. It would be the first such restaurant in north central Ohio.

Raising Cane’s, the renowned chicken finger chain, has carved an impressive niche in the fast-food industry. With over 750 locations globally, the Louisiana-based brand is centered on creating an experience. The opening of its 8,000-square-foot flagship store in Times Square, New York this past summer marked a significant milestone in the company’s expansion, drawing immense crowds and garnering widespread attention

Additional speculation circulated yesterday about a new or relocated Starbucks for the long-shuttered former Steak ‘n Shake site across from Walmart.

We will be sharing additional updates when available.
