After a multi-year stint at Johnny Appleseed Shopping Center, Holly’s Book Rack has become a part of what the West Fourth Street corridor in Ontario has to offer.
“It’s a nice location,” owner Holly Kryz shared with 1812Blockhouse on a recent visit. The store is easy to find, located west of Planet Fitness at 2180 West Fourth Street. Inside visitors will immediately notice a wide variety of titles, both new and used.
“We can find anything,” Holly emphasized, as the store has access to special ordering for both new bestsellers and those hard-to-find used volumes. The business’ long history, which began in 1994, suggests that it has built a solid network of sources for good reads.
One of the key features of Holly’s is the book trade-in program, which allows customers to exchange read material for new items. At times, that takes place at the rate of over 300 titles a day.
It’s easy to find unique items in the store. We parted with a couple of purchases, including a unique book profiling dozens of Ohio villages with a population of 500 or so. Who knew that former Ohio governor and presidential candidate James Cox came from such a place (Jacksonburg)?
We recommend a visit to Holly’s to find a Christmas gift – or two. You’ll be supporting Richland County’s small business community at the same time.
