OK, it may be a wee bit more than that. What’s clear, however, is that the long anticipated arrival of Five Guys Burgers and Fries to north central Ohio is right around the corner. Here’s photo proof!

The Five Guys chain launched in 1986 in Arlington County, Virginia, and had 1,500 locations with another 1,500 planned as of 2016. As shared on the corporate website, three facts are true about each of those restaurants — only fresh ground beef is used; only peanut oil is used; and coolers, not freezers, are used.

The first 1802Blockhouse story about Five Guys’ possible arrival in Richland County was posted in August of 2018. Since then, additional stories have profiled the choice of a location, as the chain finally settled on the new Ontario Shops at 994 North Lexington-Springmill Road. That small complex currently houses Panda Express, which opened this past December.

Five Guys’ signage is now affixed to the building. A company official confirmed on social media last week that the opening will take place sometime in August.
