Government contracts play an important role for some local businesses in Richland County. The first businesses to come to mind may be those that work with the 179th Airlift Wing based at Mansfield Lahm Regional Airport, but Ohio wants to help more businesses make the vital connections needed to grow their business through government contracts.

For a more than a decade, the Ohio Business Matchmaker has connected small businesses to government contracting opportunities. As one of the largest business to government matchmaking events in the state, this contracting meet-and-greet event offers a unique opportunity for businesses interested in doing business with the federal, state or local government to meet with representatives to market and sell their goods and services. The event is open to all small and large businesses, and is sponsored by the SBA, the Ohio Development Services Agency, and other State of Ohio entities.

The 2020 Ohio Business Matchmaker helps Ohio businesses develop relationships with government buyers and large prime contractors. As such, it features one-on-one discussions with agencies and large prime contractors from local, state and federal organizations. It includes a small business counseling suite, pre-scheduled matchmaking, breakfast and lunch, and a webinar series to prepare for the Matchmaker.

This year the event will take place from April 28 – 29 at the Nutter Center at Wright State University in Dayton. Early bird registration is available through March 31. More details on the registration costs is available at www.ohiobusinessmatchmaker.com.
