Two key employees joined North Central State College on July 5. David Murray has been hired as the Dean of the Liberal Arts Division, and Christine Copper was named Executive Director of the North Central State College Foundation.

Before joining North Central State College, Murray worked as a Professor of Art at Black Hawk College in Moline, IL; Interim Dean of Arts and Humanities at Blackhawk College; Instructor of Art at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, TX; and Instructor at North Texas Community and Junior College Consortium. He has more than 20 years of college teaching experience.

Murray says, ‘This position is about creative problem solving, which is my wheelhouse as an art instructor. So I bring a willingness to engage in learning and with the creative challenges of associating how things work and how things can become more efficient.’

Murray earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Art from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX and Master’s in Fine Arts degree in Art at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. Copper previously worked for the American Red Cross in Columbus, OH as a Development Director/Major Gift Officer; Regional Manager at Samson Dental; and Senior Director of the Central Ohio Blood Program.

‘I am looking forward to being able to support the goals and objectives of the college, including ensuring that students have the resources available to be able to gain experience through college,’ Copper says.

Copper and her husband reside in Bucyrus.
