Engineering, chemistry, aquatic ecology and forensics will be the study topics at the Springmill Summer STEM Camp for Girls, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 17-21.

Ohio State Mansfield will host the free camp for girls in grades 4 through 6 at Mansfield City Schools’ Springmill Learning Center, 1200 Nestor Drive. Education students at Ohio State Mansfield will lead interactive sessions in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) galleries. Girls will rotate to a different gallery each evening.

Local women who work in STEM fields will lead discussions about their careers and mentor girls in the galleries. Activities are planned for parents too.

Support for the camp is provided by a grant from the Richland County Foundation Women’s Fund and through a partnership with Mansfield City Schools.
