It’s clear that Mansfield students have an artistic bent.

The works of seven art students at Mansfield Senior High School are among the top 75 state winners in the 47th Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition.

An estimated 11,500 entries were submitted initially at 15 regional judging sites throughout the state. Approximately 2,500 regional winners moved on to state judging last Saturday at Hilliard Davidson High School. Submissions by the seven Senior High students were judged to be among the top 75 out of 275 finalists. They include:

— Sidney Caudill, Breyon Mills, Dallas Smith and Olta Taska, whose works will be displayed at the Ohio Department of Educaiton.

— Abou Diamonde and Khiarah Miller, whose entries will be displayed at the Governor’s office.

— Ethan Luedy, whose work will be displayed at the Rhodes Office Tower.

Art teacher Mindy Duncan said a reception from 3:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday at the Mansfield Art Center will honor all 24 Senior High artists who were regional winners. Their works will be showcased at the art center through April 16.
