Long home to a transmitter for radio station WOSU in Columbus, area residents and visitors can now enjoy the sounds of another excellent collegiate radio station.

WKSU recently began broadcasting from call letters W234CX in rural Mansfield. The station can be accessed at 94.7 on your FM dial.

The signal originates north of US30 and broadcasts WKSU to much of the Mansfield area, filling in WKSU’s coverage west of Ashland and south of the station’s tower in Norwalk. Drivers travelling on I-71 should be able to hear WKSU for more of their journey.

According to its website, WKSU is Kent State University’s award-winning NPR News and Classical Music public radio station. WKSU brings you world and national news from NPR through programs including Morning Edition and All Things Considered; regional news reports from our award-winning news staff; entertainment programs like The Best of Car TalkWait Wait Don’t Tell Me!, and This American Life—as well as the best in classical and folk music online via this website and over HD Radio. The station also airs programming from PRI, APM, PRX and the Ohio Statehouse News Bureau.
