Renda Cline was re-elected president of the Mansfield City Schools Board of Education Tuesday evening during the board’s 2017 organizational meeting.

Ms. Cline was nominated by Sheryl Weber. There were no other nominations and she was elected on a 4-1 vote. Monica Hubbard and Gary Feagin joined Ms. Cline and Mrs. Weber in electing Ms. Cline. Chris Elswick voted no.

Feagin’s nomination of Mrs. Weber was the only nomination for vice president. She was elected on a 4-1 vote, Elswick again casting the lone no vote.

Ms. Cline will serve her fourth consecutive one-year term as president. She was elected to the board in 2011 and re-elected in 2015. Mrs. Weber, elected in 2015, is beginning her second year on the board.

In other action during the brief session the board voted to continue having its regular meetings at 5:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at the Raemelton administration building. The board also approved routine committee assignments and standing authorizations for the coming year.

The board’s next scheduled meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 17 at Raemelton.
