In addition to projects identified in a previous post on 1812Blockhouse, the Richland County Engineer is now planning to resurface the following roads later this year:

  • Bellville-Johnsville Road between the Morrow/Richland County line and State Route 546
  • Lexington-Ontario Road between the Village of Lexington corporation line to Millsboro Road

In both cases, the proposed projects call for milling the top surface of asphalt and replacing it with a new, two inch asphalt surface. In so doing, no utility relocation or disruption is envisioned to take place.

The Engineer’s Office has shared that no wetlands, threatened or endangered plant or animal species, or historic properties or districts will be impacted.

No detours will be necessary. Traffic will be maintained in both directions using flaggers and temporary traffic control devices. Construction should take place beginning in September and be completed within eight weeks.

Written comments about the project may be mailed to: Delafon Luna, Project Manager, 77 N. Mulberry Street, Mansfield, Ohio 44902. You can also contact the Engineer’s Office by email at: [email protected] or by calling 419.774.5591.
