Ever wondered how many current holiday traditions have their roots in the ways that previous generations of Americans commemorated the Christmas holiday?

Here’s one way to gain some insight into that question. Richland Early American Center for History, or “REACH,’ will be presenting an Open House and “18th Century Christmas Celebration” next week.

Cookies, plum pudding, and cider will be available, as will period music, and dressed reenactors. A gingerbread house/cabin will also be raffled during the event (photo below), which takes place on Thursday, December 15 between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM at The Blockhouse in South Park.

REACH is a not-for-profit organization under 501(c) (3), is dedicated to the preservation and education of the history and life of the early settlers to the historical borders of Richland County, Ohio.
