Now that Richland County has experienced its first solid dose of winter, and a true White Christmas, the weather rollercoaster is about to take another turn.
Over the last 24 hours, snowfall totals reported to the National Weather Service have included the following amounts (in inches):
- Mansfield – Third Street, near Penn Avenue — 8
- Mansfield – Park Avenue West, near Middle Park — 5.5
- Mansfield – Cotter Road, near Pavonia North Road — 5
- North of Mansfield — State Route 96, east of State Route 13 — 6.5
- Lexington — Main Street, near Lexington-Steam Corners Road — 5
- Lexington — East of Clearfork Reservoir — 7
Looking ahead, cold temperatures will continue throughout Christmas Day, and gusty westerly winds will cause wind cold temperatures to dip into the single digits on Friday night and Saturday morning.
Somewhat warmer temperatures will return, however; Sunday’s high is currently predicted to be 42 degrees. Next week, expect highs in the 30s to low 40s and lows in the 20s and 30s.
