In a statement on its Instagram account, the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library shared news that the library is now “fine free.” The new arrangement took effect on Monday.

According to the Library, “All customer accounts are now cleared of most overdue fines and going forward, overdue fines will no longer be accumulated on most borrowed items!’

More information related to this news can be found here on the Library website, including applicability, current fines, impact on Library revenue, and more.

The library network has evolved over the last several months reflecting changes in COVID-19 pandemic levels and State of Ohio guidelines. Currently, face coverings and social distancing are required at all library locations.

In another piece of Library news, the Ontario Branch will be closed on Thursday, November 5 and Friday, November 6 during which time the parking lot will be paved. It will reopen on Saturday, November 7.
