The Mansfield Division of Police announces the arrests of two individuals believed responsible for shooting incidents within our city.

On Saturday April 8, Mychael Martin (B/M/26) was arrested in Pensacola, Florida by members of the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Task Force on a “Felonious Assault” warrant out of this agency. Mr. Martin was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. He is a suspect in a shooting a few weeks ago in which the victim was shot several times.

In a separate incident on Wednesday April 12, Lamont Lindsay (B/M/19) was located at a Red Roof Inn in Elyria, Ohio and taken into custody without incident by members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF). Mr. Lindsay was wanted on three (3) warrants, including two (2) “Felonious Assault” warrants out of this agency in reference to the recent shootings that took place on April 11 in which one victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

The Major Crimes Unit, METRICH Enforcement Unit, the NOVFTF along with other local law enforcement agencies; continue to follow up additional information as these investigations are ongoing.

Chief Ken Coontz stated, “It is our intent to aggressively pursue those offenders who commit violent crimes within our city, regardless of where they may flee.” The Mansfield Division of Police would like to “thank” those citizens who provided tips throughout these investigations which assisted in the identification and apprehension of these suspects.
