Richland Public Health has announced that a pop-up testing site for the COVID-19 virus will be in place this Saturday, August 22.

The location will be the Richland County Fairgrounds in Mansfield and anyone aged two and older can get a free test at this time and without an appointment or order from a medical provider.

Please remember:

  • ID is required
  • This will be a drive-thru clinic, so people must remain in their cars
  • Quantities may be limited
  • Minors will need parental consent

Testing will be done by the Ohio National Guard, with the Mansfield Police Department and Richland County Sheriff’s Office providing coordinating services.

The testing in Mansfield is part of an initiative launched after the Governor’s COVID-19 Minority Health Strike Force issued a report that detailed the importance of testing access in communities of color and other high-risk areas.

As a response, the Strike Force announced a walk-up/drive-up testing initiative with the Ohio Association of Community Health Centers and their affiliate members (Community Health Centers) and the Ohio National Guard. These sites will also include other local community-based organizations i.e., faith-based organizations, community centers, food pantries, etc.

Testing for this initiative will be available for individuals with or without symptoms. The test has no out-of-pocket cost to the patient and individuals of any age are able to access the test. Minors will need signed consent of a parent/guardian.
