The Richland Area Chamber of Commerce held two ribbon cuttings on Tuesday, which is a hopeful sign for continued business growth in 2020.

In the morning, a celebration with ribbon cutting was held in Ontario at the new Shelter Insurance office, which is helmed by Owner/Agent Scott Merrick. This is the first office for Shelter Insurance in our area, though they have been operating in Ohio since 2018. The agency is located at 2072 Walker Lake Road, between Panera Bread and Firenza Pizza, in Ontario.

In the afternoon, the day’s second ribbon cutting was at the Lexington Avenue location of the new Sovereign Royal Care, a new small business that aims to provide needed assistance to keep the elderly in their homes. Owner Deborah Jean Burggraaff discussed her personal experience with her aging parents and how this led her to create a business that provides the services she herself would have liked to have had for her parents. “Top quality care – that is our main focus,” said Burggraaff.

Sovereign Royal Care will assist with a variety of in-home tasks, including bathing/dressing, nutrition, movement and light housekeeping. They also partner with other local agencies to provide quality referrals for in-home skilled medical care.
