Mansfield Mayor Tim Theaker and Chief of Police Keith Porch have released 2019 statistics for crime and police service. The data was compiled by the Records Section of the Mansfield Division of Police.

The offenses that are tabulated as part of the crime statistics report are determined by the FBI Uniform Crime Report Program and are classified as crimes against persons (violent crime) and crimes against property. The offenses of murder (homicide), rape, robbery and assault make up the violent crime category. The offenses of arson, burglary, larceny and auto theft make up the property crime category. Both of these categories are referred to as Part 1 Offenses.

During the twelve months of 2019, officers responded to a total of 2,241 overall Part 1 Offense complaints, which represents a 6.3% decreased in overall crime as compared to 2,392 offenses during the same period in 2018.
