The Richland Area Chamber of Commerce surprised a handful of businesses on Friday, November 1, with in-person notifications that those organizations were in the running for Small Business of the Year.

Already announced as a winner for the Non-Profit category is Little Buckeye Children’s Museum. The Museum has recently been in the news with work continuing on their new location, 174 Park Avenue West in Mansfield, which they anticipate moving into in 2021 as the Imagination District takes shape in downtown Mansfield. The Chamber also announced Mary Anne’s Meat Market as the winner of the Entrepreneurial Spirit Award. The business had to close for more than a year after an elderly driver crashed a vehicle into the building and caused significant structural damage. Now re-opened after substantial effort, Mary Anne’s is back to serving customers.

Head over to the Chamber’s Facebook page to check out their videos of Chamber staff surprising businesses with balloons and the like to celebrate their status as finalists.

The winner of the 2019 Small Business of the Year will be revealed at a luncheon on December 6.
