Famed A Cappella Choir “The Thirteen” will present Tallis Through the Looking Glass at St. Peter’s Church in Mansfield on Tuesday, October 22 from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM (cost: $10). Thomas Tallis, who is considered one of England’s greatest composers, lived in the sixteenth century and performed his works for royalty including Henry VIII.

This concert promises to be a display of virtuosity and artistry. Featured pieces include Tallis’ symphonic-in-scope Gaude gloriosa Dei mater, Benjamin Britten’s touching and powerful Hymn to St. Cecilia, and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Caroline Shaw’s Fly Away I.

The Thirteen is a professional choir recognized for inspired and powerful performances. The choir’s invigorating performances range from the Renaissance to the Romantic, from Bach to Bruckner, and from Gregorian chant to the world premieres of new American composers.
