A plan to install a five foot sidewalk on both sides of East Cook Road east of State Route 13 in the general vicinity of Brookfield Drive is moving forward after approval by Mansfield City Council at its Tuesday evening meeting for the Public Works Director to proceed with bids and enter into a contract.

As discussed in Council’s Streets Committee, the project would be paid for by the Ohio Department of Transportation and a portion of City funding from the permissive sales tax.

As presented by City Engineer Robert Bianchi, one electric pole is to be relocated, the cost of which the City will cover.

Construction on the project will begin in July or August Completion will “not take long,” according to Bianchi, who indicated that it might take 45 to 60 days.

The image below, shared during the Street Committee meeting, shows an overview of the project and details project costs.
